From the horses mouth...
You could say I was born with a pencil in my hand. If I wasn't drawing, I'd be writing stories and poetry, and even designing fantasy castles! I would say that having a hearing impairment (which began at 5 years until I lost all hearing at 24 years), only enhanced my imagination - a vivid one that has not diminished with age.
My life was that of an outdoor girl - I spent my first years living on a farm, worked on a farm and later had a small stud breeding and showing Welsh Section A ponies and Welsh Cobs. I also had a variety of animals, pigs, goats, ducks et al.
But disaster struck when I hit my middle 40's and I became physically disabled with a spinal condition (and now with hip arthritis). This meant that I had to give up working with horses, indeed all manual work had to stop. I cannot begin to explain my despair at this, but pulling myself together I turned to my artistic side and began doing art 'properly', as well as establishing myself as a poet and author.
On these pages you can see a small sample of my work, both art and writing.
